Dr. Sadia Habib is a Lecturer in Education at the Manchester Institute of Education within the School of Environment, Education and Development at the University of Manchester. She also serves as the Young People's Programme Coordinator at Manchester Museum, leading the British Council/Heritage Lottery Fund project 'Our Shared Cultural Heritage', and is a Researcher at the Centre on the Dynamics of Ethnicity.
Her research focuses on the intersections of identities, arts, culture, education, social justice, critical pedagogy, and anti-racism. She employs critical pedagogical approaches to explore how young people engage with cultural heritage and national identity, particularly through museum education and community engagement.
Habib's publications demonstrate a consistent focus on cultural activism, critical pedagogy, and anti-racism. Her recent work examines museum education, heritage interpretation, and cultural representation through youth-led approaches. Research themes include institutional whiteness, monument removal debates, and strategies for anti-racist cultural activism.
