Sadegh Asgari

Sadegh Asgari is an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at Merrimack College, serving as the Faculty Advisor for the ASCE Student Chapter, Director of the Civil Engineering M.S. Programs, and Founding Director of the Construction Management B.S. Program. He holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University (Civil Engineering), an M.Phil. from Columbia University, an M.S. from Iran University of Science & Technology, and a B.S. from Tehran Polytechnic.

His research focuses on complex systems, sustainable infrastructure, and artificial intelligence applications in civil engineering. Key areas include resilience assessment of infrastructure systems, decision support tools using mathematical modeling and simulation, and resource management strategies in construction. He has pioneered the use of game theory and agent-based models to address challenges in construction bidding and project management.

His recent publications explore innovative applications of AI in construction monitoring, Markov decision processes for interior design automation, and resilience of food-energy-water systems. His work bridges theoretical advancements (e.g., stochastic modeling) with practical implementation in infrastructure systems.
