Sabrina Puddu is a Design Fellow at the University of Cambridge's Department of Architecture and runs the Diploma 13 unit and the Visiting School Casting Castaways at the Architectural Association School of Architecture. Her academic roles include teaching design, urbanism, and architectural history and theory at institutions such as the Royal College of Art and KU Leuven. As a practicing architect, she focuses on large-scale housing projects and small-scale domestic retrofits, with a particular interest in craft practices like sandcasting and pottery.
Her research examines the role of public institutions in urban and rural contexts, emphasizing carcerality, restorative justice, and prison abolition. Key projects include Territories of Incarceration, Carceral Islands, and Architecture for Restorative Justice. She has held notable fellowships, including the Marie Sklodowska Curie Post-doctoral Fellowship at KU Leuven (2020–2022) and a Visiting Scholar position at Columbia University (2013).
