Sabrina Lomax is a Senior Lecturer in Livestock Behaviour and Welfare at the School of Life and Environmental Sciences, University of Sydney. She is a lead scientist in the Livestock Production and Welfare Group, focusing on integrating technology with animal welfare science to enhance livestock production practices. Her expertise spans precision livestock farming, animal behavior, and pain management in livestock.
Education: BAnVetBioSc (Hons1); PhD.
Research Interests: Sabrina’s work emphasizes improving livestock welfare through technological innovations. Key areas include pain relief strategies for husbandry procedures, precision monitoring systems for cattle, and optimizing feedlot and pasture-based production systems. She has pioneered studies on virtual fencing, self-medication for cattle, and behavioral responses to stressors like weaning and heat stress.
