معرفی
Associate Professor Peter White is a member of the Sydney Institute of Agriculture and holds roles in teaching and research at the University of Sydney's Faculty of Veterinary Science. He completed his BVSc (Hon 1) and PhD, focusing on congenital chondrodystrophy in beef cattle. His research centers on pain management in livestock, analgesic pharmacology, and improving animal welfare through drug applications. He has led projects evaluating pain relief medications and collaborated on reproductive control studies for farmed animals and wildlife.
Teaching responsibilities include physiology, pharmacology, animal production, and welfare across undergraduate and veterinary medicine programs. Awards include multiple Faculty of Veterinary Science Learning & Teaching Awards (2010-2015) and an Australian Postgraduate Award (2007).
Current research explores novel pain mitigation strategies and spaying techniques for cattle. He supervises students like Lee Metcalf and Samantha Rudd. Notable grants include MLA-funded projects on cattle pain relief and wound treatments. His work spans veterinary pharmacology, welfare metrics, and interdisciplinary approaches to livestock health.
Publications emphasize pain measurement in livestock, analgesic efficacy, and disease epidemiology. Collaborations include studies on lumpy skin disease vectors and Tasmanian devil contraception. Peter White's contributions bridge veterinary science with practical animal welfare advancements.
