Prof. Sabine Sielke is a Professor of American Studies and Director of the North American Studies Program at the University of Bonn. She also serves as Mentor for the Stiftung der Deutschen Wirtschaft (SDW). Her research focuses on cultural studies, memory politics, and interdisciplinary literary analysis. She currently holds a visiting position at the United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney until April 2025.
Her professional experience includes extensive editorial work, with notable contributions to volumes such as the Handbook of American Poetry and Nostalgie: Imaginierte Zeit-Räume in globalen Medienkulturen. Her recent essay Vom Sockel holen critiques contemporary memory politics in the U.S. and Germany, reflecting her engagement with transnational cultural conflicts.
Key research interests include historical memory, gender studies, urban spaces, and postcolonial discourse. She frequently collaborates with institutions like the University of Sydney and has published widely on American literature and cultural theory.
