Prof. Sabine Schlacke is Chairholder of the Chair of Public Law, focusing on Administrative and Environmental Law at the University of Greifswald. She serves as Managing Director of the Institute for Energy, Environmental and Maritime Law (IfEUS). Her roles include Vice President of the Constitutional Court of Bremen and Co-Chair of the German Advisory Council on Global Change (WBGU). Schlacke holds a doctorate from the University of Bremen and habilitation from the University of Rostock.

- Studied Law at Georg-August-University Göttingen and Université de Lausanne (1987–1993)
- Doctorate: "Risk Decisions in European Food Law" (1997)
- Habilitation: "Supra-individual Legal Protection" (2007)
Her research emphasizes international, European, and German environmental law, climate protection, planning law, and administrative constitutional law. She leads interdisciplinary legal research on energy transition and spatial planning at IfEUS. Schlacke has held professorships at Universities of Rostock, Bremen, and Münster before joining Greifswald in 2021.
Her advisory roles include Co-Chair of the Federal Government's Scientific Platform for Climate Protection (WPKS) and membership in Acatech (National Academy of Science and Engineering). She actively participates in legal dialogues like the Greifswald Dialogues on marine biodiversity governance and climate law.
