Sina Fontana

Prof. Dr. Sina Fontana holds the Chair of Public Law and Crisis Resilience at the University of Augsburg since December 2022. Previously, she served as acting professor at Greifswald, Potsdam, and Hanover, and completed her habilitation at Göttingen in 2021.

• Research Focus: Public Law in International Contexts, Climate Protection Law, Migration & Integration Law
• Key Themes: Climate justice, gender-responsive legal frameworks, municipal climate governance

Publications cover climate law, constitutional challenges, and migration issues, including her 2025 article on Sustainable Urban Development and 2024 work on Climate Vulnerability and Gender Perspectives. Recent lectures include the 2025 4th Professors' Discussion on Environmental Energy Law and 2024 Constitutional Law Teachers' Conference in Lucerne.

Scientific Awards:

• Faculty Prize of the Legal Society of Kassel (2016)

Advising: Supervises doctoral candidates Anna Sophia Peuser, Jule Schröder, Mareike Neumayer, and Ivana Taseva on topics like climate resilience, one health, and migration law.
