Sabine Pagan is a Lecturer in Object Design within the University Connections Program at the University of Tasmania (UTas), affiliated with the School of Creative Arts and Media. She coordinates Object Design initiatives and teaches Art and Design. With 20 years in higher education and a studio practice in design-making, her work bridges disciplines like contemporary jewellery, architecture, and performance art. Pagan holds a PhD in Architecture from the University of South Australia (2017), alongside qualifications in fine jewellery and gemmology.

Research focuses on sensorial object-environment interactions, materiality, and embodied encounters. Her interdisciplinary approach explores how objects shape human experiences and memory. Notable projects include collaborations with Design Tasmania and the National Contemporary Jewellery Collection at Griffith Regional Art Gallery (co-consultant role).
Prior roles include leading the Bachelor of Arts (Jewellery) and Master of Arts Practice programs at Charles Sturt University (2004–2013) and project management at ANU’s People & Wellbeing team (2017–2021). Her work is exhibited internationally and held in private collections.
Advising/Grants: Pagan’s career includes academic leadership in design education and creative industry engagement. Current projects emphasize cross-disciplinary creative practices and material innovation.
