Sabine Meine

Prof. Dr. Sabine Meine serves as Professor of Historical Musicology at Cologne University of Music and Dance (Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln), where she also holds the position of Pro-Dean of Department 5. She is spokesperson for the Institute for Historical Musicology at HfMT and maintains active roles in multiple scholarly organizations including the German Musicological Society, Deutsches Studienzentrum in Venedig e.V., and Villa Vigoni e.V.

Meine's research focuses on music within its broader cultural context from a distinctly historical perspective, examining relationships between music and other arts and knowledge domains, as well as music's significance in social contexts. Her scholarly work centers on music cultures of the Early Modern period and Modern era in Italy and France, countries where she spent ten years of her academic career.
