Saba Hamzah is a Lecturer in Sociology at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Born in Yemen, she moved to the Netherlands in 2018, earning a Master's in Gender Studies from Utrecht University (2020). She held roles as Research Associate at The Wereldmuseum (2021–2023), fellow at Vassar College (2023), and participant in the International Writing Program Fellowship (University of Iowa). Her research focuses on decolonial approaches to knowledge production, memory, and social justice, particularly in marginalized communities.

Research Interests Her work critiques power structures through art, literature, and education. She founded the Yemeni Women Archive to preserve diasporic narratives.
