SOTIRIOU MARGARITA

SOTIRIOU MARGARITA is an Associate Professor of Ancient Greek Philology at the University of Peloponnese, within the School of Humanities and Cultural Studies, Department of Philology. She specializes in Archaic Lyric Poetry, with a focus on choral lyric, poetics, performance, reception, and intertextuality.

Education:

• Graduate of the Department of Philology, University of Thessaloniki.
• PhD from the Institute of Ancient Greek and Latin Philology, Freie Universität Berlin.

Research Interests:

Her research spans Ancient Greek Philology and Archaic Lyric Poetry, particularly choral lyric, poetics, performance and re-performance, reception, and intertextuality.

Publications:

She has authored two monographs: Pindarus Homericus: Homer-Rezeption in Pindars Epinikien (1998) and Βακχυλίδης ο Κείος. Οι επινίκιες ωδές (2021). Additionally, she has published numerous articles in reputable journals and collective volumes in Greece and abroad.
