SILVIA BARBOSA FERNANDEZ

SILVIA BARBOSA FERNANDEZ is a Professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela, affiliated with the Department of Particle Physics within the Faculty of Physics. She is also part of the Materials Institute (iMATUS) and the Strategic Grouping in Materials (AEMAT). Her research activities are conducted under the GFCP Colloid and Polymer Physics Group.

She earned her Doctorate from the University of Santiago de Compostela in 2005 with the thesis Study of the interaction of drugs with natural or synthetic polymers, supervised by Dr. Víctor Mosquera Tallón and Dr. Pablo Taboada Antelo.

Her research focuses on Condensed Matter Physics, particularly in Colloid and Polymer Physics. Key areas include drug-polymer interactions, material science applications, and biomedical systems. Her work explores the interplay between synthetic and natural polymers in drug delivery systems, contributing to advancements in material design for healthcare applications.
