Professor SAVAŞ GÜNER is currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Surgical Medical Sciences at Gaziantep University Faculty of Medicine, specializing in Orthopedics and Traumatology. Previously, he held positions as Associate Professor at both Gaziantep University (2019-2020) and Yuzuncuyil University (2014-2019), and as Assistant Professor at Yuzuncuyil University (2009-2014).
His educational background includes medical specialization from Gaziantep University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology (2000-2005) and a medical degree from Ege University Faculty of Medicine (1992-1998). Throughout his career, he has also served as a Research Assistant at Gaziantep University (2000-2006) and held clinical positions at various hospitals including Nizip State Hospital (2006-2008) and a private medical center (2008-2009).
Professor Güner's research focuses primarily on orthopedic surgery with particular emphasis on hip dysplasia, fracture management, tendon healing, and pediatric orthopedics. His work spans clinical studies, biomechanical research, and innovative surgical techniques. He has made significant contributions to understanding developmental dysplasia of the hip, treatment of trochanteric fractures, and management of diabetic foot complications in orthopedic contexts.
His publication record shows a consistent trajectory of high-impact research, with recent work focusing on pharmacological interventions for tendon healing, comparative studies of hip fracture treatments, and biomarker analysis in orthopedic conditions. He has served as editor for prestigious journals including Eastern Journal of Medicine and Van Medical Journal, and held department chair positions at both Gaziantep University (2021-2022) and Yuzuncuyil University (2013-2019). His professional affiliations include board membership in the Orthopedic Trauma Branch of TOTBID since 2015 and membership in the Turkish Sports Injuries Association since 2013.
