S. Murphree is a Professor and Department Chair of Chemistry at Allegheny College. He earned a Ph.D. from Emory University and a B.A. from Colgate University.
His research focuses on:
- Synthetic methodology using polyfunctional sulfones
- Synthesis of furan-containing compounds with biological relevance
- Microwave-assisted organic synthesis (MAOS)
