Ryan Smith

Ryan G. Smith is Assistant Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Colorado State University's Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering. His research integrates remote sensing (InSAR, TEM) with groundwater modeling to analyze aquifer systems.

Research develops machine learning approaches for large-scale groundwater assessment using datasets including satellite interferometry, electromagnetic surveys, and optical/thermal remote sensing. Focus areas include land subsidence quantification and aquifer storage loss prediction.

Laboratory: Remote Sensing Hydrology Research Group. Previously held faculty position in Geological Engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology.
