Ryan Peterson is an Associate Professor and Co-Chair of the Department of Theology at Biola University's Talbot School of Theology. His research focuses on theological anthropology and theological method, with teaching expertise in systematic and historical theology, including doctrines of God, humanity, sin, Christology, and atonement. He holds a Ph.D. from Wheaton College and additional degrees from the University of Edinburgh, Biola University, and Moody Bible Institute.

His research explores human identity in relation to divine image, integrating scriptural interpretation with contemporary theological discourse. Key themes include the interplay between divine revelation and human formation in worship, wisdom, and stewardship. His publications include The Imago Dei as Human Identity (2016) and contributions to volumes on theological anthropology and atonement theory. He actively engages in academic presentations on topics such as scientific and theological anthropologies, trinitarian theology, and humility in theological discourse.
Areas of expertise include abortion ethics, biblical interpretation, Christian thought history, and worship theology. He serves on Biola's University Personnel Committee and is affiliated with the Society of Biblical Literature and Evangelical Theological Society.
