Ryan Misner is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Architecture and Interior Design at Samford University's School of the Arts. He joined Samford in 2018 to lead the CIDA-accredited Interior Design program and develop the NAAB-accredited Master of Architecture Program. His professional experience includes 20 years as a project architect in Washington, D.C., and leadership roles at NCARB.

His research focuses on architectural design fundamentals, design communication and graphics, and the integration of portfolio development within design education. Misner's work spans base buildings, commercial interiors, hotel/hospitality projects, urban planning, and branded environments.

Misner is a licensed architect in the District of Columbia and Alabama, with certifications from the American Institute of Architects (NCARB), NCIDQ, and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He previously oversaw the development of the Architect Registration Examination® (ARE®) and led ARE 5.0 initiatives.
