معرفی
Ryan Gumpper, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the Eshelman School of Pharmacy (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill). His research focuses on elucidating molecular mechanisms of psychedelic compounds through structural biology, molecular pharmacology, and computational biophysics. He is affiliated with the Drug Discovery (CBMC) division and integrates AI & Machine Learning into his work on neuroscience and drug development for chronic pain, neuropsychiatric disorders, and addiction.
Education:
- PhD, Chemistry, Georgia State University
- BA, Chemistry, Florida Gulf Coast University
- BA, Music, Florida Gulf Coast University
Dr. Gumpper's lab bridges molecular-level drug-receptor interactions with therapeutic outcomes. Using cryo-EM, pharmacological assays, and computational modeling, his work deciphers how psychedelics engage brain receptors and modulate signaling pathways. Recent publications highlight advancements in GPCR signaling bias, AlphaFold2-guided drug design, and the therapeutic potential of psychedelics for neuropsychiatric conditions.
