Professor Ryan Abbott holds the position of Professor and Chair of Law and Health Sciences at the University of Surrey’s Surrey Law School. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at UCLA. His research focuses on law and technology, intellectual property, and health law, particularly addressing challenges posed by artificial intelligence (AI) in innovation, patents, and medical ethics. Abbott has authored The Reasonable Robot: Artificial Intelligence and the Law and co-edited Research Handbook on Intellectual Property and Artificial Intelligence.
