Ruth Richards

Dr Ruth Richards is a Lecturer in Media at RMIT University's School of Media and Communication, teaching multi-camera television production and live media. Her research explores intersections of animation and feminist theory, animation and memory, television studies, and shared genealogies of cinema and animation. She received the AFIRC Research Fellowship (2022/23) for her project on Australian Women in Animation and is an Affiliate of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society.

Her work interrogates postfeminist representations in Gen Z television reboots and examines how automated decision-making systems impact media practices.
