Chrissy Guest

Chrissy Guest serves as Associate Professor and TPDM Program Director within the Department of Media Arts, Sciences, and Studies at Ithaca College's Roy H. Park School of Communications, specializing in television production, directing, and women's representation in media.

Research Focus: Her scholarship investigates career pathways for women in animation through the award-winning documentary The Women of Titmouse Animation and the expansive Beyond Ink & Paint: The Women of Animation docu-series, which chronicles historical and contemporary studio cultures across five decades. This project features interviews with nearly 60 prominent women in animation disciplines.

Academic Leadership: As Program Director, she mentors students in the TPDM program and pioneered the award-winning Television Live Event Production course (TVR 49300), which produces remote broadcast coverage while teaching multi-camera studio techniques and socially conscious storytelling methodologies. Her curriculum includes specialized courses like Women in Media, Film and Television Broadcast Graphics and Animation and Barbie: (re)directing the Canon.

Industry Background: Prior to academia, she accumulated fifteen years of broadcast experience as director/technical director, art-director, photojournalist, and assignment editor for news affiliates.
