Ruth Miguel Franco

Ruth Miguel Franco is a Full Professor in Spanish Philology at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). She holds a PhD from the University of Salamanca and has conducted research at the University of Alcalá and taught at the Università degli Studi di Padova in Italy. Her research focuses on text editing from medieval Latin (e.g., Braulio de Zaragoza) to the 19th century, with emphasis on linguistic analysis and corpus-based approaches to language variation.

She co-directs the research project CAFECONMIEL (PRD2020/50-1), which explores automatic corpus creation and language contact phenomena in Mallorca. She is also a member of the consolidated R&D group CAVA, focusing on corpus-based linguistic variation studies.
