Ruth Massey

Professor Ruth Massey is a prominent microbiologist and academic at University College Cork (UCC), specializing in bacterial pathogenesis, antibiotic resistance, and functional genomics. She holds the SALI Professorship for Microbiome and Health Sciences and previously held roles at the University of Bristol and Oxford. Her research focuses on understanding the interplay between bacterial virulence and antibiotic resistance in pathogens like Staphylococcus aureus, with a strong emphasis on translating genomic data into clinical applications.
