Ruth Beale

Ruth Beale is an Associate Lecturer in Design at Goldsmiths, University of London. Her interdisciplinary practice combines art, economics, and political theory to challenge societal structures and knowledge hierarchies. As co-founder of The Alternative School of Economics, she develops collaborative projects exploring economic systems through creative methodologies.

Her artistic practice examines the political dimensions of cultural production through mediums including political cartoons, banners, and participatory installations. Recent exhibitions include shows at Kunsthalle Exnergasse (Vienna), Prague City Gallery, and Attenborough Arts Centre. She has published on art-economy intersections and leads projects investigating time perception in climate crisis contexts.
