Sean Owen Miller is an Associate Professor at the University of Florida's School of Art + Art History, specializing in Interventionist Art, Sculpture, and WARP. He joined UF in 1999 and serves as Director/Founder of the John Erickson Museum of Art (JEMA), a location-variable institution showcasing innovative contemporary art. His work critiques power structures in art and politics through mediums like sculpture, installation, performance, and web-based projects, emphasizing collaboration and alternative exhibition spaces.
Miller’s exhibitions span global venues including theACC Galerie (Germany), Deitch Projects (USA), and National Museum of Ireland. He co-founded the SOIL Gallery in Seattle and contributed to the book SOIL: Seattle's Artist-Run Gallery 1995 > 2005. His practice employs humor, absurdity, and multi-media to challenge hierarchical art structures.
