Ruth Bastin is Lecturer in Social Work at Sheffield Hallam University. Her teaching focuses on children and families practice, social work law, and theoretical frameworks. She coordinates the BSc Health and Social Care Studies Top Up program.
Research examines communities of belonging around alcohol consumption, retention of child protection social workers, and practice education. She contributes to studies on organizational identification during institutional decline and group decision-making.
With over 20 years' practice experience, Bastin has served as social worker, practice educator, and consultant. Her scholarly work develops innovative approaches to social work training and workforce sustainability.
