Rustum Choksi is a Professor and Department Chair in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at McGill University. His research focuses on applied mathematics, particularly in calculus of variations, partial differential equations, and scientific computing. He explores problems in self-assembly of materials, nonlocal isoperimetric problems, and optimal quantization.
Education: PhD from Brown University (1994), postdoctoral work at NYU's Courant Institute and Carnegie-Mellon University. He has authored influential works on liquid drop models, centroidal Voronoi tessellations, and image processing techniques. His articles span topics from diblock copolymer microphase separation to carbon nanotube structures.
Editorial roles include the Journal of Nonlinear Science and SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics. Teaching includes advanced calculus courses. No formal awards are listed, but his contributions to applied mathematics are widely recognized.
