Russell Raymond is an Associate Professor of Biology at the University of the Incarnate Word. He holds a PhD in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences from Texas A&M University (2008) and has 14 years' experience as a civilian instructor pilot.
Raymond's research focuses on vector ecology, particularly Lutzomyia sand flies that transmit Leishmania mexicana. His fieldwork examines seasonal abundance patterns and species distribution in Texas and Nicaragua.
His publications include taxonomic surveys, molecular systematics of rodents, and vector ecology studies. Recent work documents sand fly populations in Texas and Central America.
