Russell R. Dickerson is a Professor in the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Science at the University of Maryland, College Park. His research focuses on atmospheric chemistry, air pollution, greenhouse gases, and environmental justice. He leads the Regional Atmospheric Measurement Modeling and Prediction Program (RAMMPP) and the Flux of Atmospheric Greenhouse Gases in Maryland (FLAGG-MD) projects. Dickerson collaborates with NASA, NOAA, and NIST, and has served on Maryland's Climate Change Commission. His work integrates field measurements, satellite data, and modeling to study pollution dynamics in urban and global contexts. Key affiliations include the Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center (ESSIC) and the Chemical Physics Program. Education: A.B. in Chemistry (University of Chicago, 1975), Ph.D. in Chemistry (University of Michigan, 1980), and postdoctoral research at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry. Research emphasizes pollutant transport, climate interactions, and policy-relevant science.
