Russell Baldon

Russell Baldon is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Furniture Department at California College of the Arts (CCA), where he has taught since 2000. He holds a BFA from California College of Arts and Crafts (now CCA) and an MFA in Furniture from San Diego State University. His artistic practice explores elements of wonder through functional and sculptural objects, focusing on how visual information is gathered from everyday items like windows, mirrors, and books. Baldon co-founded a cooperative studio in Alameda, CA, and has taught at institutions including Laney Community College and Haystack School of Craft.
