Dr. Rusaila Bazlamit is a Lecturer in Digital Media at RMIT University's School of Design, Australia. She holds academic roles at multiple institutions including the University of Melbourne and Curtin University. Her research focuses on design activism, digital heritage, and immersive technologies applied to socio-cultural issues. She curates projects that use XR, game engines, and interactive media to explore spatial politics and marginalized narratives. Her creative practice Lab Tajribi merges experimental design with social commentary.
Research interests span digital heritage, critical museology, and the politics of representation in media. She has supervised postgraduate theses and honors projects.
