Rupaleem Bhuyan is a Professor at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto, and Director of the Doctoral Program. She holds affiliations with the Women and Gender Studies Institute and the Centre for Critical Qualitative Health Research. Her research focuses on immigration policy, gender-based violence, and structural inequality, emphasizing participatory action research with marginalized communities. Bhuyan co-founded the Migrant Mothers Project, which examines immigration policies' impacts on gendered inequality and violence.
