Her 2012 doctoral thesis on South Asian men's psychiatric admission experiences established foundational work in cultural narrative analysis within clinical psychology, bridging clinical practice with community mental health equity research.
Rupa provides extensive mentoring as Honorary BAME Mentor for Clinical Psychology Doctorate programs at University College London and University of Surrey, while leading NHS psychology teams through supervision, multi-disciplinary consultation, and service development initiatives.
Clinical leadership spans community teams (CMHTs, Early Intervention in Psychosis, Mental Health Integrated Network Teams) and inpatient services for adults with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, and personality disorders, with expertise in team training and therapeutic program design.
