Runjie Hu is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Texas A&M University. His mentor is Zhizhang Xie. He holds a PhD from Stony Brook University (2024) under Dennis Sullivan and a Master's degree from Peking University's Mathematics Department (2018), supervised by Houhong Fan. He also earned a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Peking University (2015), advised by Yuefang Wu.
- Education: PhD in Mathematics (Stony Brook, 2024), MSc in Mathematics (Peking, 2018), BSc in Physics (Peking, 2015)
His research explores algebraic topology, geometric topology, noncommutative geometry, and physics, with a focus on surgery theory, manifolds, L-theory, K-theory, and Galois symmetry. Recent work includes studies on formal manifold structures in positive characteristic varieties and branched covering spaces. His astrophysics publications analyze galactic cold clumps and dense gas in molecular cores using Planck survey data.
His mathematical publications span topics from Galois symmetry in topological manifolds to L-theory characteristic classes, while his astrophysics work contributes to understanding galactic structures through observational studies. No scientific awards are listed.
No advising or grant information is provided. His current affiliation is with Texas A&M's Department of Mathematics.
