Rune Micha Pedersen

Rune Micha Pedersen is a Clinical Associate Professor affiliated with the Department of Clinical Research at the University of Southern Denmark, specifically within the Research Unit of Clinical Microbiology (Odense). His research focuses on gastrointestinal infections, in vitro infection models, and viral infections in immunosuppressed patients.

Recent publications highlight his work on SARS-CoV-2 pathogenesis, including ACE2/TMPRSS2 dynamics in kidney tissue, antiviral combination therapies for immunocompromised patients, and monoclonal antibody efficacy against viral variants. Research outputs also include epidemiological studies on posttransplant lymphoproliferative disease in kidney transplant recipients.

He has participated in conferences like the 28th ECCMID (2018) and delivered lectures on VTEC-En in-vitro flow models (2016). His work intersects microbiology, virology, and clinical pharmacology, with ongoing collaborations across Nordic institutions and international partners.
