Mathias Middelboe

Mathias Middelboe is a Professor at the Department of Biology, University of Copenhagen. He serves as a Principal Investigator, focusing on marine viral ecology and virus-host interactions. His research explores viral impacts on prokaryotic nutrient cycling, diversity, and evolution through lab experiments and field studies in benthic environments (shallow to hadal trenches). He also investigates viral applications in aquaculture disease control, including phage development and resistance mechanisms.
