Assoc. Prof. Rumjana Tasheva, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Physical Therapy at the National Sports Academy (NSA) Vasil Levski, affiliated with the Faculty of Public Health, Health Care and Tourism and the Department of TM of the Kinesiotherapy. She serves as Founder and Chairperson of the Bulgarian Organization of Sports Physiotherapy. As a core member of the European Sports Physiotherapy For All project (Leonardo Da Vinci Program), she contributed to developing international competencies for sports physiotherapists. She has managed five research projects and authored multiple textbooks, including works on Physiotherapy in knee and hip injuries, ergotherapy, and hip arthroplasty. Her doctoral thesis focused on Physiotherapy post-ACL reconstruction surgery.
With over 60 publications and participation in 70 national/international conferences, her research spans orthopedic, traumatology, and neurological physiotherapy. She has conducted 27 educational courses with both local and international collaborators. Her clinical expertise includes rehabilitation for musculoskeletal and neurological disorders.
Key contributions include leadership in research initiatives and textbook authorship, reflecting her dedication to advancing sports and clinical physiotherapy practices.
