معرفی
Prof. Rudolf Schubert is a Professor in the Department of Cardiovascular Physiology at the Medical Faculty Mannheim, Heidelberg University. His research focuses on mechanisms regulating blood supply in vascular systems, particularly the role of signaling molecules like ion channels and mechanically induced pathways in endothelial cells. Key areas include autoregulation of circulation, functional remodeling of vascular walls, and pathologies such as hypertension and diabetes. His work spans molecular, cellular, and organ-level methodologies. He leads the Division of Cardiovascular Physiology within the Center for Biomedicine and Medical Technology Mannheim (CBTM).
Research interests emphasize vascular smooth muscle potassium channels, mechanical stimulus-induced signaling, and endothelial glycocalyx dysfunction in diseases. He investigates physiological processes like myogenic and perivascular-fat dependent autoregulation alongside structural plasticity during postnatal development.
Publications highlight studies on mRNA/microRNA expression in vasculature development, endothelial remodelling, KCNQ channel roles in hypertension, and pharmacological interventions. His lab integrates diverse methodologies to understand signaling complexes and vascular dysfunction mechanisms.
Prof. Schubert’s work aims to delineate acute autoregulatory and long-term functional remodeling processes in circulatory systems, with implications for treating cardiovascular diseases. He collaborates with institutions like the CBTM and employs advanced molecular and cellular techniques in his studies.
