Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rudolf Hausmann serves as Head of the Department of Bioprocess Engineering at the University of Hohenheim, Faculty of Natural Sciences. His research focuses on advanced biotechnological processes for sustainable production.
- Current projects include "Nano-Mem-to-Tech" for membrane protein presentation
- "AllianzBiotenside" for biosurfactant optimization
- "ValProWa" for process water utilization
Research spans microbial conversion of lignocellulosic sugars, surfactin production, and anaerobic fermentation development. Projects are funded by Baden-Württemberg Foundation, BMBF, MWK, and DFG.
