Professor Miri Rubin is a leading historian of medieval and early modern Europe, currently serving as Professor of Medieval and Early Modern History at Queen Mary, University of London, and Head of the School of History since 2012. She previously held positions at the University of Oxford (1989–2000) and the University of Cambridge (1984–1986). Her research explores religious cultures, Jewish-Christian relations, gender, and urban life in medieval Europe, with a focus on themes like charity, identity, and visual/material expressions of belief.
Her major awards include a Leverhulme Major Research Award (2002–2005), Fellowship of the Royal Historical Society (1989), and Corresponding Fellowship of the Medieval Academy of America (2007). She has been a key figure in academic leadership, serving as President of the London Medieval Society (2007–2012) and on councils of prestigious institutions like the Medieval Academy of America.
