His career integrates scientific research with Christian educational philosophy within ETBU's faith-based academic environment.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Biology, Lamar University
- Master of Science in Biology, Lamar University
- Ph.D. in Zoology, Oklahoma State University
Dr. Darville's research centers on aquatic ecosystem analysis, particularly water quality and ecological dynamics of Caddo Lake—a Ramsar Wetland of International Importance—and its watershed. His work bridges toxicology, biochemistry, and field ecology through investigations of environmental stressors on aquatic organisms. Teaching responsibilities span zoology, botany, toxicology, and biochemistry, emphasizing empirical research methods and interdisciplinary connections.
His scientific recognition includes:
- University Professor of Distinction (2014)
As an educator, Dr. Darville mentors students through classroom instruction, research supervision, and international Global Study and Serve programs during May terms. His leadership as Associate Dean shapes curriculum development and faculty initiatives within the School of Natural and Social Sciences. Research activities focus on longitudinal monitoring of Caddo Lake's ecosystem health, involving student field teams in data collection across the watershed. He champions the integration of Christian faith with scientific inquiry, preparing students for science careers grounded in service-oriented ethics.
Field operations center on Caddo Lake and its tributary systems, utilizing both laboratory analysis of physiological responses and in-situ ecological assessments to evaluate anthropogenic impacts on wetland integrity.
