Roxanne Sorrick, Ed.D., is a Professor of Education at Hiram College. She returned to her alma mater in 2001 after teaching first and sixth grade language arts in Trumbull County. Her expertise includes curriculum development, grant collaboration, and aligning coursework with state/national standards. She holds a B.A. from Hiram College, an M.Ed. from Kent State University, and an Ed.D. from Walden University.
Her research interests focus on assessment methodologies, children’s literature, literacy, nature-based education, and the role of health/wellness in learning. She is responsible for accreditation reports such as CAEP and ODHE, ensuring program compliance. Sorrick is known for her course INTD 39400: No Child Left Inside and her innovative preschool outreach programs, dubbed “chicken school” by participants.
Her professional contributions include developing departmental coursework and assessments, collaborating on grants, and fostering community engagement through education initiatives.
