Rowena McPherson

Rowena McPherson serves as Director of Creative Services and Adjunct Instructor of Photography in the BFA program at the University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI), while also coordinating Graphic Design, Social Media, and Photography for campus creative initiatives.

She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from UMPI, establishing foundational visual arts expertise through formal education before expanding into self-directed exploration of diverse mediums.

McPherson's artistic practice integrates photography with traditional techniques including watercolor painting and charcoal drawing, transforming photographic captures into handcrafted artistic interpretations that bridge digital and physical art forms.

As founding partner and lead shooter at family-run Mouse Island Photography, she develops portrait services that extend photographic work into custom watercolor and charcoal renditions, operating from her Perham, Maine base with husband Shawn.
