Rowan Wood is an Adjunct Professor at the NYU Game Center, where they teach programming and game development. They are also a game designer and developer at Wobblestone Games. Wood holds a BFA in Game Design from the NYU Game Center (2020). Their research interests focus on systems-based games, abstract puzzle mechanics, and educational games, with a particular emphasis on ecological and space-themed simulations.
Notable projects include yarne, a relaxing abstract puzzle game on Steam; rewilding, an ecosystem simulation selected for the 2021 NYU Game Center Incubator; and Piloting Red Rover, an educational game for the American Museum of Natural History aligned with the 2020 Mars Perseverance Rover mission. They actively collaborate on interdisciplinary projects and maintain an open-door policy for playtesting.
