معرفی
Roumani Alabd is an Associate Lecturer at the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, University of Technology Sydney (UTS). They hold a PhD (2023) and Master by Research (2018) in Applied Mathematics from UTS, with a focus on mathematical modeling in medical physics and wave propagation. Their research interests include treatment planning for multi-ion particle therapy, electromagnetic wave interactions, and Brillouin scattering in elastic materials. Alabd has conducted funded research on machine learning applications in radiation therapy and scatter correction modeling, collaborating with industry partners like Rapiscan Australia Pty Ltd.
Teaching responsibilities include courses on Vector Calculus, Discrete Mathematics, Electrical Engineering fundamentals, and Mobile Application Development. They currently supervise Masters and PhD students in mathematical and physical sciences. Research highlights include developing optimization algorithms for nonnegative linear least-square problems and advancing PET scanner design through scintillation detector research.
Recent publications focus on medical physics innovations, including HDR brachytherapy quality assurance systems and multi-ion beam therapy planning. Alabd’s work bridges applied mathematics with engineering applications in healthcare technology.
