Rosário Mauritti is an Associate Professor at Iscte-University Institute of Lisbon, affiliated with the School of Sociology and Public Policy and the Department of Sociology. She serves as an Integrated Researcher at CIES-Iscte (Center for Research and Studies in Sociology), where she co-coordinates the Inequalities, Work and Social Welfare Research Group. Additionally, she directs the Laboratory of Transversal Skills (LCT-Iscte) and chairs the Scientific Committee for special entrance exams at Iscte.
Her research focuses on:
- Social inequalities and stratification
- Social classes and class dynamics
- Welfare state and social welfare systems
- Living standards in aging societies
- Sociology of education
- Work and employment
Dr. Mauritti has published in numerous journals including International Education Sciences, Studies of Sociology in Education, European Journal of Social Work, Portuguese Journal of Social Science, Sociologia, Problemas e Práticas, and others. Her publications reflect consistent engagement with contemporary sociological challenges across European and international contexts.
She has supervised an extensive number of graduate students:
- 9 PhD students currently in progress
- 1 completed PhD dissertation
- 5 Master's students currently in progress
- 20 completed Master's dissertations
Her academic leadership extends to directing the Center for Innovation and Pedagogical Development (2024-2027), serving as President of both the Pedagogical Committee and Scientific Committee (2022-2026), and coordinating multiple institutional courses. She has been instrumental in developing programs that enhance students' professional competencies through the Laboratory of Transversal Skills.
