Rossend Arques Corominas is a Professor of Romance Philology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), affiliated with the Department of French and Romance Philology and the Performing Arts Research Center. His work contributes to UN SDG 4 (Quality Education). He holds a PhD in Romance Philology from the University of Barcelona (1990).
His research focuses on translation methodologies, early modern literary traditions, Catalan philology, and comparative theatre studies between Italy and Spain. Notable projects include studies on Carlo Goldoni's influence in Spain (2010-2012) and comparative theatre analysis between 16th-17th century Italy and Spain (2004-2007).
Recent publications (2021-2025) explore Catalan translations of Dario Fo's works, Dante's Inferno editions, and bilingual dictionary evolution. He has supervised 14 works including a doctoral thesis on 'Mosèn Avinyó' poems (1992).
He has held academic positions since 1980, including lecturer roles at Padua University (1980-1981) and Trieste University (1989-1990). His affiliations include the Institute of Medieval Studies and the Literary Traditions & Transatlantic Networks (LT&T) initiative.
