Jordi Cerda Subirachs is an academic affiliated with the University of Barcelona's Department of French and Romance Philology, and associated with the Lope de Vega Studies Center (PROLOPE) and the Literary Traditions and Texts of the Early Modern Age: Italian, Iberian and Transatlantic Networks (LT&T) research group. He holds a PhD in Romance Philology from the University of Barcelona (2000), a postgraduate in Publishing Techniques (1993), and a graduate degree in General Romance Philology (1990).
His academic career includes roles such as Full-time Associate Professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) (2001–2002), Consulting Professor at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) (2000–2002), and earlier positions in Portugal as a Lecturer in Catalan language and literature. His research focuses on medieval and early modern literary traditions, Iberian cultural networks, and transatlantic influences, with a particular emphasis on Catalan and Portuguese literary histories.
Key research projects include studies on humanistic culture in the Atlantic world, medieval Mediterranean artistic exchanges, and the genetic and interartistic analysis of Salvador Espriu's work. His publications span articles, book chapters, and edited volumes, reflecting expertise in cultural history, literary analysis, and historical textual studies.
Jordi Cerda Subirachs has contributed to 96 scientific productions, including his doctoral thesis on medieval Catalan hagiography. He has collaborated on multiple research grants and projects funded by Spanish and European institutions.
