Rossana Hu is a tenured Professor and Chair of the Department of Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania's Stuart Weitzman School of Design, a position she assumed on January 1, 2024. Previously, she served as Professor and Chair of the Department of Architecture in the College of Architecture & Urban Planning at Tongji University in Shanghai.
Her educational background includes:
- Master of Architecture from Princeton University
- Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, with a minor in music
Rossana Hu's research and practice, conducted through her cofounded firm Neri&Hu Design and Research Office, focus on adaptive reuse in architecture. Notable projects include the transformation of a former textile warehouse into a corporate headquarters for a pastry company and the renovation of the Qujiang Museum of Fine Arts. Her interdisciplinary work spans master planning, interior design, product design, and branding. She also co-founded the Festival of Design in Shanghai in 2016 to foster design discourse through lecture programs.
